Emad Alyedreessy

Architect & Researcher

Background

As a registered Architect (ARB) and pre-construction design management consultant, Emad has contributed towards the design delivery of several high-profile, award-winning projects in the UK and internationally. Such projects include UCL East Marshgate, Kuwait University College of Architecture, Theatre Royal Drury Lane, LSE Marshall Building, the New Museum of London and AMAALA triple bay masterplan.

His research interests centre on evidence-based design and the interrelationships between spatial configurations and behavioural patterns within the built environment. In early 2020, Emad received funding from Lancaster Univeristy to undertake doctoral research on socio-spatial relationships within UK based urban housing. In 2022, he continued developing his thesis at Northumbria University where he adopted a mixed-method approach to quantitatively examine social interaction in relation to spatial design within large-scale purpose-built shared living (LSPBSL) buildings.

He has taught students at Manchester School of Architecture and Lancaster School of Architecture, where he was an Associate Lecturer in the Architecture and Built Environment Department.
